Effective Technology Integration into Lessons and Curriculum

There are many concepts that I am taking away from this course. The class discussions, the studied resources and the assignments helped me reflect on my teaching practices and try new pedagogy paths by integrating technology into my lessons and curriculum to reach all my students.
The class discussion regarding differentiation helped to clarify that differentiation means: to deliver instruction according to student’s needs and learning styles. Now I pay more attention to how I can provide alternative avenues for students to succeed at school and ensures that each student has access to the curriculum independently of his/her learning abilities.
For example, students who struggle with writing skills use Flipgrid to videotape their understanding from readings. Also, students who are shy expressing their thoughts in person use forum rooms on Schoology or Padlet. I envision recording passages from readings on sites such as Bandlab for students to use them as a reference for fluency. I would like to take advantage of the Screencasting features to encourage flipped lessons be used more often.

In sum, this course also helped me continue the use of the technology to support student’s learning. I learned that the effective technology integration into instruction will boost students learning skills such as the 4 C’s.

  2. Clara, thanks for your view on differentiation. You nailed it on the head when you said that differentiation means to deliver instruction according to student's needs and learning styles. Great way to put it. This class has given us many great ways to present our lessons and flipped classrooms are great. I love using tools like screencast-o-matic, this allows the students to watch, pause and rewatch your video as they need to.
